Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Zelina Vega vs. Tiffany Stratton

Backstage, Drew McIntyre talks about his WrestleMania moment being stolen from him four years ago. As he continues, in comes LA Knight talking trash like a 1999 version of The Rock. After the two have some words, we see Roman Reigns arrive and tell Jimmy Uso it’s time to fix everything Jey Uso messed up.

The LWO theme hits back inside the arena and out comes Zelina Vega for her scheduled Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier. As she settles in the ring, we shift gears and head into a quick pre-match commercial break. When we return, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne talk about their title shot at Elimination Chamber.

Tiffany Stratton’s music hits next and out she comes for this Women’s Chamber qualifier. The bell sounds and off we go. After some back-and-forth action, the commentators point out Legado Del Fantasma and Elektra Lopez sitting at ringside. We head to a mid-match break on that note.

When we return, we see Zelina Vega hitting a bunch of high spots, such as a 6-1-9 in the corner that knocks Statton off the middle rope, face-first into the top-turnbuckle. She follows that up with a Meteora for a close pin attempt. Carlito and the LWO come down. Zelina yanks Lopez over the barricade.

Back in the ring, Stratton takes over and hits her Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the win. After the match, we see The O.C. approaching a dejected AJ Styles in the locker room. They say he’s forgot where he’s came from. Styles slaps Anderson. Anderson tells him to try that again. Styles walks off. We head to another break.

Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Samantha Irvin begins the official pre-match ring introductions for the opener, which will be the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Natalya’s theme hits and out she comes as the number one entrant for this year. Naomi’s theme hits second and out she comes as the first surprise entrant of the evening. She and Nattie kick things off for a few minutes and then Bayley comes out at number three. At number four was Candice LeRae.

Out at number five as cops sirens sounds, is current TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. The commentators explain who she is to the viewing audience at home and a good portion of the crowd seems to be aware of who she is. Pat McAfee puts over Grace as an “absolute weapon” for TNA. They mention how she defeated Naomi for the TNA Knockouts title. She and Naomi hug and then duke it out. Indi Hartwell comes out next and then Asuka.

Hartwell ends up being the first person eliminated. Bayley keeps trying to high five Asuka, who wants nothing to do with her. Coming in next is Ivy Nile. Katana Chance comes in at number nine after that. Number ten comes out and is Bianca Belair. She gets a big pop coming out. Kairi Sane comes out as the next entrant. All three members of Damage CTRL in the ring work together to eliminate Candice LeRae.

The countdown clock appears again and out as the 12th entrant is Tegan Nox. Grace looks to eliminate Nox, but Nattie saves her friend. The two hug and then Nattie tries to sneak and throw her out, only for her to throw Nattie out. Bayley then eliminates Nox so they both end up tossed out anyways. The countdown clock appears again and out at number 13 is Kayden Carter. We see Kairi Sane nearly pull a Kofi Kingston, but slips and ends up eliminated.

Seconds later, Asuka gets thrown out. Bayley is now the only Damage CTRL member still alone in the ring. She yells to them, “What do we do about the plan now?!” The countdown clock appears again and when it expires, Chelsea Green’s theme hits and out she comes with an insanely oversized skirt as part of her entrance attire. She takes it off and heads to the ring as Cole reminds everyone she was eliminated in 5 seconds last year.

This year she is nearly thrown out in 2 seconds, but hangs on. Belair throws her over again but again she hangs on. She hits a big move on Belair and over-celebrates, but then gets spinebuster-slammed down to the mat by Grace. Bianca ends up KOD’ing Grace to eliminate her. Piper Niven comes out as the next entrant and she and Green go to work on everybody with double-team action. Xia Li comes out as the next entrant.

Zelina Vega comes out as No. 17 with an even wilder entrance attire than Chelsea Green. Maxxine Dupri comes out next and gets a big response from the crowd, who also loudly does the “SHOOSH!” bit with her once she gets in the ring. She immediately eliminates Xia Li and Ivy Nile with ease. The fans boo like crazy. Green tries sneak attacking her, but she sees it coming.

Niven goes to splash her but Jax moves and she splashes Green on accident. Niven then spears Jax over and over again into Green in the corner. Shotzi comes out and hits some high spots off the top. Becky Lynch comes out after that and the crowd goes wild. “The Man” hits the ring and immediately starts getting some eliminations, including Chelsea Green. Out at no. 22 next is Alba Fyre. At no. 23, out comes Shayna Baszler to a non-reaction.

Out at number 24 is Valhalla. She comes out with the antlers on and Michael Cole goes unbelievably nuts. Like for a while. As she walks to the ring, R-Truth’s theme hits and out he comes walking past Valhalla and sliding into the ring to an enormous pop. He looks confused. Nia Jax grabs him and throws him out in seconds. The fans boo. Adam Pearce runs down and tells Truth it’s the Women’s Rumble. He tells Truth he’s out and Valhalla she’s in. Valhalla goes in but is immediately thrown out.

At number 25, out comes Michin. At number 26, Zoey Stark comes in. Roxanne Perez comes out at no. 27. We see some more eliminations and then Perez hits a cool spot rolling around the body of one of the other entrants for what seems like forever. Jax ends up power bombing Baszler out and then Michin for two more eliminations. The commentators continue to sing her praises for her performance thus far tonight. She also power bombs Shotzi out of the ring to eliminate her.

The countdown clock hits again and out at number 28 is former AEW TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill to easily the biggest sustained roar of the evening thus far. Like really, really loud. She hits power spots on Nia Jax and eliminates her. Tiffany Stratton comes out at no. 29. At no. 30, out comes Liv Morgan to make her long-awaited WWE return. A bunch of eliminations take place, including Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair, after a cool stare down between Belair and Cargill.

We’re down to Cargill, Morgan and Bayley. Bayley and Morgan try together to eliminate Cargill. They eventually do. Bayley then kicks Morgan out to eliminate her. She is the last person standing. Bayley has won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble and will now go on to challenge for the title she chooses at WrestleMania 40.

Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Zelina Vega vs. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark vs. Bayley vs. Iyo Sky vs. Trish Stratus

We head to a commercial break and when we return, the pre-match video package airs to get us ready for our second namesake match, as it’s time for the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.

With that said, the ring entrances begin after the formal in-ring pre-match introductions by the ring announcer. Out first, representing The Judgment Day according to Samantha Irvin, is Bayley. Whoops! Damage CTRL, Sammy!

Next she introduces Iyo Sky, as representing Damage CTRL. She’s batting .500 now. Representing LWO out next is Zelina Vega. Alright, she’s back to being an above .500 batter as a ring announcer. That’s respectable.

Zoey Stark is introduced next and then out after her comes the WWE Hall of Fame legend, Trish Stratus. Real quick, just need to say thank you, Trish! Finally, “The Man” is introduced and the crowd goes ballistic as Becky Lynch makes her way out.

The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with our Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. We see Trish and Zoey immediately join forces to take out most of the competition. They then focus on trying to get the ladder in the ring and begin their climb.

Others start filtering back in to stop Trish and Zoey. The fans break out in their super loud “Hey Bayley!” chants and crazy, crazy loud singing for Bayley like they did during Friday night’s SmackDown. Bayley finally screams, “SHUT UP!”

Iyo Sky ends up hitting a wild moonsault off the top of the ladder set up in the ring, splashing onto a pile of bodies down below. Trish and Becky end up alone in the ring and they wildly duke it out as the commentators talk about their recent intense rivalry.

We keep seeing spots take place and then Trish and Becky end up alone and they pick up where they left off with their wild hockey style punch-exchanges. Trish hits her Stratusfaction onto a ladder. Zoey Stark pulls handcuffs from under the ring. Trish chokes Becky as Zoey gets ready to cuff her to the corner of the ring.

Lynch fights back after only one cuff is put on her hand. The other one s dangling as she beats down Trish and Zoey. She clears off the commentary table but turns around into a two-on-one attack from Trish and Zoey. A ladder bridge is set up across the ring apron and announce table.

“The Man” hits a Man-Handle Slam on Trish on the ladder bridge. Ouch. She then turns around into a turning corkscrew splash from Zoey. In the ring, Zelina and Zoey start to climb opposing sides of the ladder. Zelina flips over and hits Code Red on Zoey on another ladder bridge. Ouch!!

Iyo Sky ends up alone and climbing the ladder. She gets her hand on the briefcase and essentially has this one won, but her own Damage CTRL teammate Bayley pushes the ladder over. She screws her own teammate and begins climbing herself now.

Lynch climbs up the other side and grabs Bayley by the ear and then a fish-hook, to drag her down. She climbs back up but Bayley grabs the loose handcuff. Iyo Sky comes in but Lynch takes them both out. Bayley stops Lynch again.

Iyo Sky grabs the loose handcuff from Lynch and cuffs it to Bayley. Now both are stuck and can’t climb, so Iyo climbs up past them, literally climbing over Bayley as payback and getting to the top. She sits on the top rung and pulls down the briefcase for the win. Awesome match.

Winner and 2023 Mrs. Money In The Bank: Iyo Sky

On that note, the theme for Rhea Ripley hits and out comes the reigning and defending SmackDown Women’s Champion. She settles inside the squared circle for our next match of the evening and her music dies down.

Now the theme for her opponent, Zelina Vega plays. As the challenger emerges, the crowd in San Juan goes bonkers. She heads to the ring looking ready to achieve her destiny here tonight in Puerto Rico.

She wears a cool giant Puerto Rican flag and soaks in the love from the hometown crowd. She stops and hugs several members of her family who are in attendance at ringside tonight.

The bell sounds and the ring announcer does the formal pre-match ring introductions for the champion and the challenger. Vega gets emotional getting a huge pop. The bell sounds again and we’re officially off-and-running with our third championship contest of the evening here at WWE Backlash.

We see Vega start off well, taking it to Ripley and even stopping to get a flip flop from her mom, which she throws at Ripley. Back in the ring, the SmackDown Women’s Champion slows Vega’s momentum down and starts to take over on offense.

Ripley dominates for a few minutes and then goes for the Rip Tide, but Vega counters with a DDT. She hits a 6-1-9 and then a Meteora for a super close near fall that the crowd was buying into. Seconds later, unfortunately, Ripley kills her momentum and the crowd’s spirit with a Rip-Tide for the pin fall victory.

Ripley leaves after the match and the ring is left to the hometown hero, Zelina Vega, who gets an enormously loud standing ovation followed by some singing and chanting in Spanish. Vega stands in the ring very, very emotional soaking in what will no doubt be one of the highlights of her career no matter what else she goes on to achieve.
