Clash of Champions September 27th 2020 Results

RAW Women’s Title Match: Zelina Vega vs. Asuka

We go back to the ring as Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe and Byron Saxton welcome us. Zelina Vega is out first, followed by RAW Women’s Champion Asuka. Asuka gets pyro as she poses in the ring.

The bell rings and Asuka strikes first, then taunts Vega. They go at it and Asuka tries for quick pin attempts. Vega with a shot to the arm that surprises Asuka. They trade holds now. Asuka goes for an arm bar but it’s not enough as Vega fights off. More back and forth now. Asuka sends Vega to the apron and then knocks her to the floor with a Hip Attack.

Asuka follows but Vega sends her arm-first into the steel ring steps. Vega brings it back in and unloads in the corner as the referee warns her. Asuka fights Vega off. Vega with a kick to the face. Vega goes on and covers Asuka but she kicks out at 2. Vega keeps Asuka grounded now. Vega with another submission attempt and a 2 count. Asuka counters and goes for the Asuka Lock but Vega fights her off. They go back to the floor and trade counters. Asuka brings them back to their feet, still going for the Asuka Lock. It’s broken and Vega fights in from the apron now. Asuka goes for a Hip Attack but gets stuck in the ropes as Vega moves. Vega goes right into a submission on the ropes now. Vega goes for the hurricanrana from the top but Asuka blocks it, Vega counters and sends her flying. Vega keeps fighting and gets another close 2 count.

Vega can’t believe Asuka kicked out. The Backstabber is blocked. Vega ends up landing a big kick but Asuka still kicks out at 2. Vega is angry. Asuka catches another kick attempt and they tangle some more. Vega with two close pin attempts in a row. Asuka goes right into the Asuka Lock on the mat, forcing Vega to quickly tap out.

Winner: Asuka

– After the match, Asuka stands tall with the title as her music hits. We go to replays. Charly Caruso interviews Asuka in the ring, and asks about Vega putting up a fight. Asuka says Vega is like a firecracker – small but dangerous, but she was not ready for Asuka tonight. Vega is on her feet now. Asuka extends her hand for a shake but Vega shakes her head no. Vega does a bow to Asuka as a show of respect instead. Asuka bows back but Vega kicks her. Vega exits the ring as Asuka recovers and starts yelling at her from the ring. Asuka yells in Japanese for a minute or two, then raises the title as her music hits. Vega yells back from the stage, saying this is not over.

#1 Contender’s Match: Zelina Vega vs. Mickie James

We go back to the ring and out first comes Zelina Vega as Mike Rome does the introductions. The winner of this next match will challenge RAW Women’s Champion Asuka at Clash of Champions. Vega hits the ring and we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and we see what has happened with RETRIBUTION tonight. We see how last week’s Asuka vs. Mickie James match ended, and how Vega stepped to Asuka last week. Out next comes Mickie to the ring. They air a backstage video from earlier where Mickie said she will remain focused on the title and show Vega how a real champion does it tonight. The bell rings and Mickie attacks Vega. Vega turns it around and works James over in the corner. Vega yells at Mickie while holding her by her hair. Mickie turns it around and drops her in the middle of the ring.

Mickie slings Vega around by her hair. More back and forth now. Vega catches Mickie in a submission in the middle of the ring. James powers up and rams Vega back into the turnbuckles to break it. Vega dodges a shot and kicks James in the face. Mickie catches the next kick and goes for a powerbomb but Vega turns it into a hurricanrana for 2. Mickie with a pin of her own for 2. Vega drives Mickie into the mat. Mickie shoves Vega of but Vega catches her on the middle rope with a submission as the referee counts to 5.

Vega stalks Mickie some and goes for the tornado DDT. Mickie fights her off and clotheslines her. Mickie mounts some offense now. Mickie drops Vega on her face as he crowd cheers her on. Mickie goes to the top and hits the seated senton but Vega kicks out at 2. Mickie kicks Vega as she gets up. Vega blocks the big DDT and sends Mickie into the ropes hard. Vega with a Backstabber in the middle of the ring for the pin to earn the title shot.

Winner and New #1 Contender: Zelina Vega

– After the match, Vega stands tall as her music hits. The announcers confirm Vega vs. Asuka for the title on the Clash of Champions Kickoff pre-show.

Asuka vs. Peyton Royce

We go back to the ring and out comes RAW Women’s Champion Asuka for this non-title match. She poses in the ring as the pyro goes off. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and the announcers hype Mandy Rose “coming soon” to RAW. We go back to the ring and Peyton Royce is out. The bell rings and they lock up. Billie Kay watches from ringside. Royce takes it to the corner but Asuka fights her off. Asuka rolls Royce for a 2 count. Royce charges but Asuka nails a big knee. Asuka with a big Hip Attack in the corner, then a German suplex in the middle of the ring. Asuka with more offense for a close 2 count.

Asuka goes for a kick but Royce catches it. They tangle and Asuka takes Royce down for 2. Royce ducks a kick. Asuka ducks a kick. Asuka with a kick to the gut. More back and forth now. Royce with a Stunner variation for a 2 count. They tangle some more. Royce fights off the Asuka Lock. Royce drops Asuka again for another close pin attempt. Royce goes to the top but Asuka rocks her and climbs up. Royce knocks Asuka to the mat. Asuka kicks her in the head, sending her to the mat.

Asuka follows up and drops Royce to the mat for the Asuka Lock. They tangle and Zelina Vega hits the ring out of nowhere, attacking Asuka for the disqualification.

Winner by DQ: Asuka

– After the bell, Vega talks trash and goes to work on Asuka. Asuka fights back and goes for a spinning back fist but Vega avoids it and retreats to the floor. Vega yells about how she’s taking the title from Asuka on Sunday. Asuka taunts her from the ring as her music hits.

– Lana is backstage with Angel Garza. She can’t believe Mickie James already has a title shot when it should be Natalya. She goes on praising Natalya. Garza agrees that this is unfair, and says Lana’s passion for justice is intoxicating, the fire in her eyes… Zelina Vega walks up with Andrade and asks Lana to give them a minute. Vega rants at Garza and he tells her he’s tired of being blamed for every set back they have, when Andrade lost a match. The tension continues as Andrade steps to Garza. They argue and Vega gets in between them, yelling that this is enough. She says she can’t do this anymore, then she walks off. Garza and Andrade brawl a bit as we go back to commercial.

RAW Women’s Title Match: Mickie James vs. Asuka

We go back to the ring and out first comes RAW Women’s Champion Asuka. She poses in the corner as the pyro goes off. Back to commercial.

They lock up and go at it to start. Mickie takes Asuka down for a quick pin attempt. Asuka turns it around and does the same. More back and forth now. James trips Asuka and hits a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring. Asuka kicks out at 2. They tangle off the ropes and Asuka ends up nailing a big kick to the face for a close 2 count. Asuka goes for a Hip Attack but Mickie moves and Asuka gets stuck on the middle rope. James rocks Asuka and sends her out to the floor. James also falls to the mat and we go to commercial with both competitors down.

Back from the break and they’re going at it in the middle of the ring. Asuka fights off James from behind and drops her in the corner. Asuka runs into a big elbow. James catches Asuka and sends her flying with a head scissors. Asuka ends up hitting the Hip Attack in the middle of the ring. Asuka is fired up now. Mickie catches her with a Flapjack out of nowhere. Mickie kips up for a pop.

Mickie wastes some time but climbs to the top and Asuka cuts her off. Asuka climbs up but Mickie knocks her to the mat. Mickie leaps with the Thesz Press but Asuka kicks out at 2. More back and forth now. They trade big strikes on their feet now. Asuka dodges a kick and rocks Mickie with a back fist. Asuka with kicks while Mickie is on her knees now. Asuka charges but Mickie ducks a kick and grabs her leg, going right into a single-leg Crab. Asuka drags Mickie to the bottom rope but Mickie pulls her back to the middle of the ring. Asuka rolls her into a 2 count.

Mickie drops Asuka with a kick to the jaw but barely connects. Asuka kicks out at 2, grabbing the bottom rope just in time. Asuka catches Mickie and rolls her into an arm bar on the mat. More back and forth on the mat now. Asuka blocks the DDT. Mickie fights Asuka off and rolls her into a 2 count. Asuka takes James right back down into the Asuka Lock. Mickie resists but the referee calls the match out of nowhere, apparently saying Mickie tapped out.

Winner: Asuka

– After the match, it’s announced that Asuka wins as Mickie can no longer continue. The referee hands Asuka the title as her music hits. The music interrupts as Zelina Vega comes marching to the ring to boos. We see the referee checking on Mickie at ringside as Vega takes a mic and starts ranting about how she’s been thinking of her future. Today it dawned on her that she has wasted some of the best years of her career, managing two selfish ingrates like Andrade and Zelina Vega. Ingrates… just like Asuka. She says Asuka was handed the title by one of the greatest but she’s been nothing but reckless with it. She says Asuka has been so worried about the Superstars of yesterday, ignoring one of the greatest of today. Vega. Vega says she’s here to tell Asuka’s she’s ready for the title. Asuka fires back in Japanese and laughs in her face. Vega rocks Asuka and drops her with a slap. Asuka looks to come back but Vega exits the ring, taunting Asuka. Asuka’s music starts up as the two Superstars continue taunting each other.

The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Andrade

We go back to the ring and out come RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits for this non-title match – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. Out next comes Andrade and Angel Garza with Zelina Vega. Vega and Andrade march right past Garza on the ramp as he poses. There’s some ringside tension between the two as well.

Garza says he will stat off. He faces off with Ford and taunts him by throwing his pants. Back and forth as they go at it. Ford hits a dropkick and sends Garza to the corner. Andrade tags in and they have some words. Dawkins comes in and dropkicks Andrade. Dawkins launches Andrade over his head.

Vega and Garza end up arguing at ringside for a few minutes as Andrade fails to mount a comeback in the ring. This leads to Dawkins leveling Andrade. Ford goes to the top and hits the big Frogsplash for the pin to win.

Winners: The Street Profits

– After the bell, Garza is already on the ramp, mouthing back at Vega as The Profits’ music hits. We go to replays after Ford kicks Andrade out of the ring. There’s more arguing between the two sides as Garza storms off to the back. The music suddenly hits and out comes SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. The Street Profits look on from the ring as we go to commercial, with Cole wondering if the Brand To Brand Invitational is back.

Tornado Tag Team Match: The Street Profits vs. Andrade and Angel Garza

We go back to the ring and it starts raining red cups as RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits head to the ring – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. The announcers go over the rules for this match. The titles will not be on the line. Out next are Andrade and Angel Garza with Zelina Vega and Demi Burnett.

The bell rings and here we go. Dawkins gets taken out and they double team Ford now. They look to hit a double superplex on Ford in the corner as Vega cheers them on. Dawkins comes over and interrupts, slamming all three to the mat with a counter. We go right to commercial.

Back from the break and the double team to Dawkins is in progress. Garza grounds Dawkins and Andrade nails a big shot from the second rope. Garza wastes some time and Dawkins kicks out at 2. Garza with a big running shot to Dawkins in the corner. Andrade goes out and drops Ford into the edge of the apron. Dawkins gets double teamed again as Vega cheers her crew on. Andrade with an arm submission to Dawkins using the ring ropes. Dawkins fights off a double team from the corner. He rocks Garza and launches Andrade across the ring.

Dawkins unloads and runs wild on Garza and Andrade now. Dawkins with a leaping corkscrew splash on Andrade in the corner, then a big bulldog for a 2 count as Garza breaks the pin up. Burnett also cheers Garza on from ringside. Garza and Andrade take Dawkins back to the top and turn him upside down. Garza with a big running kick to the chest while he’s upside down. Andrade goes to the top and hits the big stomp while Dawkins is upside down. Andrade with a 2 count as Ford leaps from out of nowhere to break it up.

The two teams trade big moves on their feet now. Ford with a big Blockbuster and enziguri to Andrade. Ford shakes the ring ropes and yells out but the lights start flickering. Could this be RETRIBUTION? Garza takes Burnett and they run away through the crowd.

RETRIBUTION suddenly storms the ringside area. Ford, Andrade and Dawkins are in the ring as it’s surrounded. Male members of the masked group hit the ring and attack. Female members also surround Vega at ringside and beat her down. The crowd boos as RETRIBUTION stomps away on Vega, Ford, Dawkins and Andrade. They all run away to the back as we go back to commercial.

Monday Night RAW August 24th,2020 Results

 Charly is backstage with Zelina Vega, Angel Garza and Demi Burnett from The Bachelor. Charly asks if Vega is finally ready to admit she poisoned Montez Ford. Vega sticks to her story and says the footage proved nothing. Garza interrupts and Vega tells him he’s not helping her, just saying things don’t make sense. Vega storms off to get ready for her match. Garza talks to Burnett and she mentions speaking to Ivar this past weekend. He tells Burnett she can come watch his match next, then he flirts some with Charly before walking off. Burnett follows. Back to commercial.

The IIconics and Zelina Vega vs. Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott and Bianca Belair

We go back to the ring and Zelina Vega is out with The IIconics – Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Out next comes Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott.

Liv starts off with Kay. Kay sends her into the corner and in comes Liv. Royce is in. Liv turns it around and in comes Ruby for the double team. Royce decks Riott as Kay comes back in and levels Ruby with a big boot. The IIconics with more tags as they keep Riott down in their corner. Vega tags in and taunts Riott, decking her and taking her to the corner for more offense. Vega covers for a 2 count.

Vega grounds Riott with a submission now. Vega ends up knocking the other off the apron and upsetting Belair. Belair and Vega have words. Belair tags in and unloads on Vega, knocking The IIconics off the apron as well. Belair with more offense and taunting to Vega. Belair with the Glam Slam to Vega and a moonsault but The IIconics break the pin up.

Liv and Riott run in with enziguris to The IIconics. Vega and Belair go at it now. Vega with offense but Belair connects with a big right hand. Belair follows up with the KOD for the pin to win.

Winners: Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott

Andrade vs. Angelo Dawkins

We go back to the ring and out comes Andrade with Zelina Vega and Angel Garza. Vega takes the mic and dismisses the idea that she had RAW Tag Team Champion Montez Ford poisoned last week. She says she had nothing to do with it. She asks what kind of manager would she be if she ruined the title shot for her clients at SummerSlam. Vega says Bianca Belair could learn a lot from her. Vega goes on and says she had nothing to do with the poisoning, but she will have everything to do with the title change at SummerSlam. The music hits next and out comes RAW Tag Team Champion Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits. Dawkins walks to the ring and the lights go out, which could be a sign of RETRIBUTION. Back to commercial as Dawkins does his entrance.

Back from the break and Tom shows us footage of Big Show in Netflix’s new “Game On: A Comedy Crossover” show. We go back to the ring and they’re going at it. Back and forth to start for several minutes. Dawkins mounts offense and launches Andrade across the ring with an overhead suplex. Dawkins misses in the corner and Andrade beats him down. Andrade with the running knees to the face. Dawkins still kicks out at 2.

Andrade goes to the top but Dawkins catches him in mid-air on the way down with a big right hand. Dawkins covers but Vega gets on the apron and distracts the referee, spoiling the pin. Bianca Belair appears at ringside and pulls Vega off the apron to the floor.

There’s chaos now as Andrade charges but Dawkins catches him with the Cash Out, driving him into the mat. Dawkins covers for the pin to win.

Winner: Angelo Dawkins

– After the bell, Garza checks on Vega while Belair yells at him. Belair brings Vega into the ring but Vega retreats back to the floor. Belair stands tall in the ring and taunts Vega as we go back to commercial.

Zelina Vega vs. Bianca Belair

Back from the break and Bianca Belair is in control of Zelina Vega. Vega jumps on her back but Belair resists and sends her flying to the mat.

Vega begs Belair to back off. Belair shows off some and they have words. Belair grabs Vega’s hair to keep her from retreating. Vega with a shot to the gut and a Crucifix attempt but it’s blocked. Vega counters again and applies a Triangle choke. Belair powers up but Vega tries to roll her into a pin. Belair overpowers again and slams Vega on her face. Belair talks more trash to Vega and tells her to get up.

Belair takes Vega to the corner and unloads with kicks and punches, beating her down as the referee warns her. Belair goes back to unloading and the referee gets in between them. Vega with a cheap shot to the eye during the chaos. Vega with a takedown for a 2 count as Andrade and Angel Garza cheer her on from ringside. Vega keeps control and stuns Belair in the corner, dropping her again. Vega charges with double knee to the face for a close 2 cunt.

Vega keeps Belair down now and talks some trash as Angelo Dawkins encourages Belair from ringside. Vega fights the KOD attempt off. Belair with an elbow. Vega counters and sends Belair flying face-first into the middle rope. Vega leaps from the second rope for a crossbody but Belair catches her in mid-air. Belair tosses Vega into the air and drives her into the mat for a pop. Belair finally mounts more offense and tosses Vega by her hair. Belair charges in the corner but hits the ring post head-first as Vega moves out of the way.

Vega works Belair over and mounts her in the corner while talking some trash, yelling that she didn’t do the poisoning. Belair counters coming out of the corner with a powerbomb. Belair then drops Vega face-first into the top turnbuckle. Belair drops Vega in the middle of the ring with the KOD, covering for the pin to win.

Winner: Bianca Belair

– After the match, Belair stands tall in the middle of the ring as we get replays. Charly Caruso interviews Belair and Dawkins in the ring, asking about evidence on the poisoning. Belair brags on beating Vega and won’t give an update on Montez Ford’s condition. Dawkins says they are The Street Profits and SummerSlam is two weeks away… there’s no way Ford is missing the biggest party of the summer. Dawkins says they’re bringing the ruckus and the red cups, and they want the smoke. Vega, Andrade and Garza taunt Dawkins and Vega from the stage.
